1. CHOOSE YOUR PACKAGE
We offer two expert service packages for talented student-athletes. With our Premier Athlete package we will assist you with all aspects of the scholarship process from initial application through to graduation. Premier Athletes also get exclusive access to the Athletes Area on our website, which is full of useful tips and resources to help guide you through the process. Our Online Athlete package is a subscription service that enables you to create your online athlete profile that US coaches have access to and our University Database lets you search thousands of colleges and coaches and contact them directly. Premier Athletes also get access to this database.
2. PROFILE CREATION
Regardless of what service package you choose, we will create your athletic profile on our Athletes Database that is accessed by hundreds of US college coaches every week, giving you unprecedented exposure from day one. Your online profile includes your highlight video, along with your athletic and academic background. For those who don’t already have video footage of them performing we hold regular trial events and can film you competing to make sure your highlight video fully showcases your sporting talents.
3. PASS ENTRANCE EXAM
One of the first tasks the majority of prospective student-athletes have to complete is registering for an entrance exam (SAT or ACT). Logically the next important steps are studying for the exam and then passing it.
4. ELIGIBILITY CENTER CLEARANCE
Another extremely important task for most prospective student-athletes is registering with relevant eligibility centers and submitting all necessary documentation in order to get cleared to play at collegiate level. The process of having your profile reviewed and cleared can take months and needs to be completed before four year schools can process your application and award you with your I-20 form, which is necessary for obtaining a student-visa. Players who fail to meet the eligibility center criteria can be deducted seasons in which they can compete.
5. SCHOLARSHIP NEGOTIATIONS
Once your profile has been circulated to relevant US college coaches, we will work with you and on your behalf to help negotiate the best possible financial package from the schools that are of interest to you. Negotiations is naturally a crucial stage in the process and discussions can go on for months but both parties obviously need to make sure that they are a good fit for each other. For schools they are potentially investing up to $250,000 in a student-athlete during their collegiate career so recruitment is taken very seriously.
6. COMMIT TO A SCHOOL
Having spoken with coaches and players from all interested schools, you can then decide which one you would like to play for during your collegiate career. Once notified the school will send over a national letter of intent as way of committing you to play for the school; which will also detail the scholarship amounts awarded to you.
7. ADMISSIONS CLEARANCE
Having committed to a school the student-athlete then needs to get cleared by their admissions department in order to be able to study there, the same as you would if going to a university in the UK. Again the student-athletes designated U.S Soccer Scholarships consultant would provide all required support to guide them through this process.
8. VISA APPROVED
One of the last but arguably most important stage in the process is getting your student visa approved by the U.S Embassy, which can only take place once you have been cleared by your chosen university’s admissions department.
